The educational institutions, public as well as private, of the provincial metropolis will reopen on Monday (today) after 10 holidays. The schools and colleges of Lahore were closed till September 24 on the directions of Punjab government in order to ensure proper fumigation and other preventive measures against dengue virus on the campuses. The educational institutes will observe a new schedule for school timings starting from 9am till 3pm for one month.
The Punjab government has also lifted the restriction of uniform for students in the educational institutions of the provincial metropolis and other areas affected by dengue virus for a month.
However, it will be mandatory for the students to wear full-sleeve shirts and socks to protect themselves against mosquitoes. On Sunday, the government schools across the provincial metropolis remained open and special teams of the Education EDO office visited the schools to check status of anti-dengue fumigation and other preventive measures.
According to the Education EDO, the office had received data of around 4,000 private schools of Lahore out of over 4,500 to check status of anti-dengue measures on the private campuses.
