Laptops with 500GB Hard Drive

Hitachi Ltd. has come up with a new 500GB hard drive especially for laptops and has taken the industry by storm. This goes on to further prove the fact that notebook computers can match with desktop computer and can be very powerful indeed.
A 500GB hard drive is one of the beefiest hard disk for a laptop. A 500GB hard disk is enough to store about 500 hours of high definition digital video, about 178 standard quality movies, 250 games or as many as 125,000 quality songs of about 4 minutes duration each!

The current largest hard disk for laptops is a 320GB hard disk produced by the Western Digital Corp. Hitachi has announced that its 500GB hard disk for laptops will be made available for computer manufacturers till February. Asustek Computers, a manufacturing company based in Japan has indicated that they will launch the first laptop having 1 terabyte hard disk capacity by using two of these Hitachi’s 500GB hard disks in a single laptop.
